What is nachwuchsforum.net?
nachwuchsforum.net is an open forum for young scholars and advanced students in the field of Canadian Studies. It is designed as a platform where you may exchange ideas with other young scholars and find information about current Canadianist activities and events – both in German-speaking countries and internationally. With nachwuchsforum.net, we hope to strengthen existing networks between young Canadianist scholars and to give young scholars around the world an opportunity to easily access these networks, to start new ones, and to cooperate with other scholars working in similar fields or on similar projects.
Who is responsible for nachwuchsforum.net?
nachwuchsforum.net has been conceived by the Young Scholars' Network of the Association for Canadian Studies in German-speaking countries. Thanks to financial support by Foreign Affairs Canada (FAC), we were able to design this web presence in the year of 2005. nachwuchsforum.net is maintained by the two coordinators of the Young Scholars' Network of the Association for Canadian Studies in German-speaking countries. If you have any comments about or suggestions for this web site, we would appreciate to hear from you!
How can I receive or access information about current Canadianist activities and events?
If you would like to receive information about current Canadianist activities and events, you may join our E-mail list. We will also post information about upcoming events and activities on these web pages under NEWS.
Why is nachwuchsforum.net only offered in English, French, and German?
nachwuchsforum.net has been developed by the Young Scholars' Network of the Association for Canadian Studies in German-speaking countries. In order to facilitate international networking and exchange, the web site is also available in the two official languages of Canada. Depending on the development of this web presence, it is possible that the web site will in the future be available in other languages as well.
Why can I not modify or remove my entry in the list of research projects myself?
To give you the opportunity to modify or remove your entry in the list of research projects, we would have to make the list accessible via user names and passwords. Since this would make the site more complicated to maintain for the administrators and more complicated to use for you, we have decided to not include areas in the site which are secured by passwords. In order to save the entries in the list from random changes from anyone who visits the site, only the administrators of the site can modify or remove entries in the list of research projects.
For whom is the list of research projects designed, and who can post in it?
The list of research projects is supposed to facilitate an exchange between young scholars from all academic disciplines who work on a Canada-related topic. Its primary target audiences are graduate students and academics doing post-graduate research, i.e. people who work on research projects for an extended period of time. The list is, however, also open to advanced students who have not graduated yet and who are pursuing specific research projects related to Canada.
For whom is the forum designed, and what can I post in it?
The forum is designed to assist young scholars from all disciplines in exchanges about Canada and Canadian Studies. It is an open forum in which users are invited to discuss questions related to their fields of research. In addition, the forum may also be used to exchange information on other Canada-related topics, such as experiences at Canadian universitiies, scholarships, etc.
